"THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG "
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
Of the United States of America,
And to the Republic for which it stands:
One Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
"THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER"
Words by Francis Scott Key and Music by John Stafford Smith
Oh, say can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
O say, does that StarSpangled Banner yet wave O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave
“Hands Up (Give Me Your Heart)”
Songwriters: Daniel Vangarde / Jean Joseph Kluger
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfp0X1aSjk0
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
All your love, All your love.
Angel face, I love your smile,
Love your ways, I like your style.
What can I do to get closer to you?
Don't think twice or count to ten.
Don't take advice, don't ask me when.
Just come my way, simply kiss me and say:
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
All your love, All your love.
With your head up in the sky, Every day you're walkin' by,
Why don't you ever start looking at me?
Stop that game, don't waste your time,
For all your dreams are matching mine,
No use to play hide and seek for a week.
Hands up, baby, hands up, Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
Hands up, baby, hands up, Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
All your love, All your love.
Let me be your Romeo, your wonder boy,
And your super champ.
Let me take you to the milky way
On a holiday, (on a holiday)
Follow me (follow me)
Why don't you follow me (why don't you follow me)?
Just come my way simply kiss me and say:
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme heart
Gimme gimme
Repeat and Fade Out:
Hands up, baby, hands up,
Gimme your heart, gimme, gimme your heart
Gimme gimme...

“One Moment In Time”
Whitney Houston
Songwriters: Albert Louis Hammond / John Bettis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96aAx0kxVSA
Each day I live I want to be
A day to give The best of me
I'm only one But not alone
My finest day Is yet unknown
I broke my heart For every gain
To taste the sweet I face the pain
I rise and fall Yet through it all
This much remains
I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feelI will feel eternity
I've lived to be The very best
I want it all No time for less
I've laid the plans Now lay the chance
Here in my hands
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel
I will feel eternity
You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be
I will be
I will be free I will be
I will be free
“Old Town Road”
Written by Lil Nas X & Billy Ray Cyrus
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8680rCz4t6A
Yeah, I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more
I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more
I got the horses in the back
Horse tack is attached
Hat is matte black
Got the boots that's black to match
Ridin' on a horse, ha
You can whip your Porsche
I been in the valley
You ain't been up off that porch, now
Can't nobody tell me nothin' You can't tell me nothin'
Can't nobody tell me nothin' You can't tell me nothin'
Ridin' on a tractor
Ridin’ on my bladder
Cheated on my baby
You can go and ask her
My life is a movie Bull ridin' and beaujee
Cowboy hat from Gucci Wrangler like on TV
Can't nobody tell me nothin' You can't tell me nothin'
Can't nobody tell me nothin' You can't tell me nothin'
Yeah, I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road
I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more
I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road
I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more
Hat down, cross town, livin' like a rock star
Spent a lot of money on my brand new guitar
Baby's got a habit: diamond rings and Fendi sports car
Ridin' down Rodeo in my Maserati sports car
Got no stress, I've been through all that
I'm like a Cawboy Kid so I kick on back
Wish I could roll on back to that old town road
I wanna ride 'til I can't no more
Yeah, I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road
I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more
I'm gonna take my horse to the old town road
I'm gonna ride 'til I can't no more

“Sweet Caroline”
Songwriters: NEIL DIAMOND
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLPiYZrwAzU
Where it began, I can't begin to knowing
But then I know it's growing strong
Was in the spring And spring became the summer
Who'd have believed you'd come along.
Hands, touching hands Reaching out, touching me touching you
Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined To believe they never would, But now I,
Look at the night, And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two.
And when I hurt, Hurtin' runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when I'm with you
Warm, touching warm Reaching out, touching me touching you
Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined, To believe they never would Oh, no, no
Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good
Sweet Caroline, I believe they never could.

“Greatest Love of All”
Songwriters: Linda Creed / Michael Masser
http://www.bing.com/search?q=the+greatest+love+of+all+whitney+houston&form=APMCS1
I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest
Love of all is happening to me
I found the greatest
Love of all inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest
Love of all is happening to me
I found the greatest
Love of all inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
And if, by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love.

The 2018-19 DWS Concert Chorus performing during their Spring Recital Concert
DWS Concert Chorus Auditions
Dear Parents/Guardians in Grades 1-2,
Attached you will find a choir consent form that has to be filled out, signed, and returned to Mr. Romano ASAP for the students that are interested and have a desire to try out for the 2019-20 DWS Concert Chorus. The auditions will take place during September and October. The student volunteers have to sing and perform songs, a cappella, all by themselves in front of their peers. The songs are,“God Bless America,” for first graders and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” for the second grade students.
There is always an overwhelming number of students that audition for the ensemble. Please remember that many students will not be selected because the choral group consists of only forty students because this size is ideal for performances. All of the participants are congratulated in advance for trying out, practicing, and for being a true performer.
The students who are selected to the chorus need sign the Media Release Form because district and school performances will be recorded and pictures will be taken. They also will have to make up any classroom work missed during rehearsals which are once per week. The students have to maintain good grades and have an excellent attendance record for all performances and practices during school. The members must wear the proper attire to all of the concerts: plain white tops/shirts, black pants/skirts, dark shoes, and no sneakers, please.
NOTE: All of the students attending DWS in grades 1 and 2 are required to bring in a one-subject notebook for music classes. All of the students in grades 1-2 will be performing during the Winter Program on December 19th at 9am. Parents are all cordially invited to this wonderful annual event! If you have any questions, comments, and concerns, please contact me. Thank you very much for your patience and kind understanding.
Respectfully,
Mr. Piero Romano

Sweet land of liberty of thee I sing

Land of the pilgrim's pride

Let freedom ring!
O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!

I'M A LITTLE BOY WITH GLASSES
THE ONE THEY CALL A GEEK
A LITTLE GIRL WHO NEVER SMILES
'CAUSE I'VE GOT BRACES ON MY TEETH
AND I KNOW HOW IT FEELS
TO CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP
DON'T LAUGH AT ME DON'T CALL ME NAMES
DON'T GET YOUR PLEASURE FROM MY PAIN
IN MY EYES WE'RE ALL THE SAME
SOMEDAY WE'LL ALL HAVE PERFECT WINGS
DON'T LAUGH AT ME
I'M THAT KID ON EVERY PLAYGROUND
WHO'S ALWAYS CHOSEN LAST
I’M THE ONE WHO’S SLOWER
THAN THE OTHERS IN MY CLASS
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE MY FRIEND
BUT IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
I'M THE BEGGAR ON THE CORNER
YOU'VE PASSED ME ON THE STREET
AND I WOULDN'T BE OUT HERE BEGGING
IF I HAD ENOUGH TO EAT
DON'T THINK I DON'T NOTICE
THAT OUR EYES NEVER MEET
I WAS BORN A LITTLE DIFFERENT
I DO MY DREAMIN’ FROM THIS CHAIR
I PRETEND IT DOESN’T HURT ME
WHEN PEOPLE POINT AND STARE
THERE’S A SIMPLE WAY OF SHOWIN’
JUST HOW MUCH YOU CARE
I'M FAT, I'M THIN, I'M SHORT, I'M TALL,
I'M DEAF, I'M BLIND, HEY AREN'T WE ALL?
Chorus: Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
Chorus: Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
It’s not about the way you look. Your size, your weight, or height.
What matters most is what’s within: the things that aren’t in sight.
Chorus: Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
It’s not about the clothes you wear, or place that you may live.
Your character defines you, and the kindness that you give.
Chorus: Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
Take these words with you ev’ry day. To life’s great promise you belong.
Rejoice in who you truly are. Stand up. Join in and sing your song.
Sing your song. Sing your song. Sing your song! Sing your song!
Chorus: Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
COME. COME. COME. COME.
Come join in. Come join in. What ever your back ground or color of skin.
COME. COME. COME. COME.
You are of value for all that you are. Your special uniqueness will carry you far.
Come join in. (Sing in unison and hold!)
