Cooperative Education

What is Cooperative Education for High School Students?

The Cooperative education (Co-op) program provides Grade 11 and 12 students with the opportunity to earn High School credits through the completion of a semester-long work placement in a career, occupation or job of their choice.

Students can take up to 4 coop credits in grade 11 and 4 coop credits in grade 12.

Co-op programs are designed to meet your individual career goals, strengths, interests, and learning styles, preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and workplace experience needed to be successful in the future. In addition to real world experience and community references, Coop can lead to Employment and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).
