Principal's Page

Welcome to Webster Elementary!

We are a 4K-4th grade school with about 265 students and 32 staff.  My name is Ashley Nagel and I am the Principal here at Webster Elementary. It is my fifth year as an administrator.  I bring a wide variety of experiences in education to our students and community. I strive partner with the Webster community, families, students and staff! I look forward to another great year of building relationships.

I hold my Bachelors of Science in both Elementary Education and Mathematics. I have my Master's of Education degree and added my Special Education certification and Children/Adolescent mental health certification while in a teaching role and completed my administration licensure 6 years ago. I have since earned my Educational Specialist licensure in Superintendency and am blessed to have been called to serve, love, and guide the students of Webster Elementary. YOU are the reason that I am here.

I enjoy my free time outdoors doing all things from boating, to fixing/restoring old trucks, to four-wheeling or biking/hiking with my husband and 3 boys. I have lived in Northwestern Wisconsin for 36 years.

We have a great staff, with a good mix of seasoned veterans and young staff, full of energy. Our school has been recognized in prior years with the "Wisconsin School of Recognition" award. This is awarded by the State to Title 1 schools who score in the top 25% with the State testing. This is something our students and staff should be very proud of! We continue to strive to reach our highest potential every year with each group of students. We recently have moved reading scores to the highest achievement levels we have had in our building in the last decade and aim to continue to reach higher achivement levels with all students.

Each year we have a "Tiger Pride" theme that helps our students to remember to follow the TIGER CODE and our School Agreements, to set a positive school climate. Tiger code stands for Practice RESPECT Always SAFE Work Together Show RESPONSIBILITY. These are built into our school agreements which our student body created.  Our school conducts a couple fundraisers each year and works to give back to our school through the use of "Box Tops for Education" which awards our school through a receipt app from things we already buy. These special funds help us do fun gatherings, outings, and celebrate our Tiger Pride through gear for all students.

Each quarter we celebrate growth in both academics and character development with an activity with a message with the principal. The students look forward to the day each quarter and teachers gain access to planning time for interventions and needs that they see in students. We have a student-centered and flexible learning environment, which lends itself to personalized learning. Our teachers are well educated in the Science of Reading and are growing our capacity to build core knowledge for our students in order to help them access deeper understanding of concepts. We incorporate technology in many areas of our day at age appropriate levels  including the addition of STEAM courses in 3rd-4th grades. Our many web based programs enable us to stay connected to our fast moving world of technology, along with our Chrome Tablets at the K-1 level and Chromebooks at the 2-4 level which are 1:1 for all students. We continue to work with the students to find strategies for them to take ownership in their learning in ways that are developmentally appropriate.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, please call or set up a meeting. We want to make their educational experience as successful and as positive as possible! We look forward to partnering with you and are so glad you are part of the Tiger Family!
