About Your Librarian

Our librarian, Mrs. Ruth Iaela-Pukahi, is a licensed & certified elementary teacher and librarian. Family is very important to her. She is a mother of five Pukahi children, ages 6 to 16 years old and 2 foster babies (2 & 3 years old) who have been with her for over 2 years. Never a dull moment in this house!

Mrs. Iaela-Pukahi is passionate about literacy. As a child she struggled with reading, often crying because she "couldn't do it" but her Mom helped her a lot until reading became one of her favorite past times. Without the knowledge of reading Mrs. Iaela-Pukahi understands how limited life could be.

With big goals in mind to turn Webling Elementary library into a learning lab of the 21st century and getting all our students excited about learning through things they read and study, Mrs. Iaela-Pukahi is excited for things ahead.
