Alex S.  

Hello!  My name is Alex and I am truly honoured and very thankful for the opportunity to return to Dara Academy for my fourth year as an M1 NP teacher.

I am from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I studied Business Administration and graduated with a BBA from the University of New Brunswick. I am trilingual from having also studied French and Spanish language at university, and then working for a French bank in Geneva, Switzerland for one year, followed by six years working in Marketing in Madrid, Spain.

My goal as a teacher is to engage with each and every one of my students in ways that motivate them to push themselves to become as proficient as possible in the English language. This in order that they may aspire to use the English language as a means to becoming a true global citizen, thereby reaping the many benefits and self-fulfilling rewards that international travel, educational and cultural experiences have to offer.

Beyond world culture, travel and languages, I enjoy cycling, tennis and taking in ‘live’ progressive rock music.
