Hello! My name is Rebekah Mayo. I am tremendously pleased and honored to join Dara Academy as a kindergarten NP teacher!

 Although I am American, I have lived in Thailand since I was twelve. I think of Chiang Mai as my hometown. I was born in Australia, but my family moved to Texas and then West Virginia when I was a child.

I graduated with honors from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University International College with a BBA. While I was getting my degree, several of my professors urged me to go into teaching. They had seen me tutoring my friends and classmates and felt I had a knack for helping others understand tricky concepts.

I worked as an English teacher for New Stamford Language School. Throughout my time working there, I had the opportunity to teach a range of ages and class sizes. I taught kindergarten and primary classes at Mongkhon Wittaya School in Lamphun. I also taught K1-3 classes at San Sai Kindergarten.

Teaching is my calling, and I love helping my students gain confidence in their abilities. I look forward to helping the students of Dara learn in a fun and exciting way that will encourage them to use English in their daily lives.

I have eight dogs, three sulcata tortoises, and approximately fifty budgies. I love art, music, and books.
