Rebekah M.

Hello! My name is Rebekah Mayo. I am tremendously pleased and honoured to return to Dara Academy as an NP kindergarten teacher for a third year!

I was born in Australia, but my family moved to the United States when I was a child. Although I am a dual citizen of the U.S. and Australia, I have lived in Thailand since I was twelve years old. I think of Chiang Mai as my hometown. I love volunteering, reading, listening to music, playing video games, and spending time with my pets. 

I graduated with honours from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University International College with a BBA. While I was getting my degree, several of my professors urged me to go into teaching. They had seen me tutoring my friends and classmates and felt I had a knack for helping others understand tricky concepts.

I worked as an English teacher for New Stamford Language School. Throughout my time working there, I had the opportunity to teach a range of ages and class sizes. I taught kindergarten and primary classes at Mongkhon Wittaya School in Lamphun. I also taught K1-3 classes at San Sai Kindergarten.

Teaching is my calling, and I love helping my students gain confidence in their abilities. I am grateful to continue helping the students of Dara learn in fun and exciting ways that encourage them to use English in their daily lives.
