Hello, my name is Jack Ganados Hirst, and I am British.
Although I have only recently begun living in Thailand full-time, I have spent the last 14 years travelling around the world. No matter where I went, I always found myself returning to my favourite place—Northern Thailand, especially Chiang Mai and Pai. I love the culture, the food, and most of all, the kindness and warmth of the people. I am very happy to now call Chiang Mai my home and feel honoured to be part of the Dara Academy community.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a CELTA qualification. I began my career in the hospitality industry, where my role focused on caring for people, creating positive experiences, and making sure everyone felt welcome and happy. Over time, I discovered that education offered a deeper sense of purpose, and I chose to move into teaching so I could support and inspire the next generation.
My teaching philosophy is simple: children learn best when they are happy, confident, and enjoying the process. I aim to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. When children enjoy learning, they engage more, grow faster, and develop a genuine love for discovery that stays with them as they grow.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy sports, travelling, cooking, art, and board games. I believe these interests help me connect with children and bring creativity, energy, and balance into my teaching.
