I am married to Cody Billings and together we have four children: Evalyn, who is in 12th grade and Ethan in 10th at MGHS, Elizabeth in 7th at OMS, and Elliana, who is in 4th grade at Weaver Lake. Our family shares our home with a variety of pets, including a dog, three cats, and three bunnies.

Since 2015, I’ve enjoyed supporting Weaver Lake PTO and our school district in various capacities. I work as a substitute teacher and as a relief Veterinary Technician. I also lead two Girl Scout troops at Weaver Lake  and I mentor high school girls by helping them run camps and teach archery. My family is heavily involved in sports, and either my husband or I often hold board positions or manage teams for various groups. Our children are also enthusiastic volunteers, particularly at Maple Grove Days and Weaver Lake events.

Why PTO?

As parents, it is not always clear what happens behind the scenes at school. However, understanding the “why” behind decisions makes it easier to support and appreciate them. I am continually inspired by our dedicated volunteers and their extraordinary commitment of time and energy. 

My husband and I moved to Maple Grove 15 years ago to start our family.  Our oldest will be attending Osseo Middle School in the fall and the twins will be in first grade.  We enjoy traveling, reading, checking out new parks and playing games together.

When I saw the PTO was looking for help planning the fifth grade dance last year, I figured as an event planner I should help coordinate it for my son.  I look forward to helping in a leadership role for the PTO.

I have three kids (Oliver and Levi are in kindergarten and Emmett 3rd grade at Weaver) with my husband, Ben. We have two dogs and a cat. I enjoy being active in this PTO. I love traveling and keeping active. A highlight from past summer was completing my first marathon and traveling to France for the Olympics!

Why PTO?

Why not? I enjoy learning about how the school is funded and what is happening in the district as well. I also really appreciated the information we got regarding what is being taught at each grade level. Being a relatively new parent in school having that insight was really great.

My name is Mona Parmar and I co-parent a 6th grader and a 4th grader at Weaver Lake.  I'm the Fundraising Coordinator for PTO and also coordinate the Color Run and Carnival.  I really believe our PTO has the best events and fundraisers because of the community we are serving and the outreach, help and support we receive to make them fun and successful!  I am Data Project Lead at Target Corporation and feel lucky that I can use skills I've learned in my professional career to help our school.  I live in Brooklyn Park where it is easy to celebrate Indian culture and heritage with my kids!  If you are a single parent, a minority, a working parent with limited time, but want to get involved please feel free to reach out to me anytime to chat! 

My name is Leah and I’m the Book Fair Chair and will be shadowing for Fundraising Coordinator. My family lives in Maple Grove. Community involvement is important to us! PTOs play a pivotal role in our education communities and I wanted to volunteer my time to support ours. My kids are just entering their elementary years, so I’m looking forward to being involved and volunteering for the next several years! 

Melinda Davis proudly serves as the PTO Treasurer at Weaver Lake Elementary. As a dedicated mother of two boys and an enthusiastic volunteer, Melinda is passionate about supporting the school community and helping create enriching experiences for all students. She enjoys being involved in school events and activities, and she values the opportunity to give back while staying connected to her children’s educational journey.

Hello, Weaver Community! My husband and I are proud parents of a first grade student and a 5th grader at Weaver Lake. Our family loves reading, animals, camping, spending time outdoors, theater, playing sports, the MN Twins, and the MN State Fair! I serve as a middle school science teacher and new teacher mentor for Minneapolis Public Schools. 

As secretary, I am responsible for recording accurate meeting notes to ensure our community is aware of upcoming events and fundraisers, how money is being spent and how you can get involved. The Weaver Lake community is incredibly generous with their time and resources, and it has been the most fun to see how that dedication translates into equipment, programs and field trips our students may not otherwise experience. The Weaver PTO is hardworking, committed and FUN, and I encourage you to join us for a meeting! 

My husband Jason and I have two girls. A third and first grader at Weaver Lake. We also have a rescue dog, Penny. My favorite hobbies are doing anything creative, going to new restaurants, and reading fiction books. I love Thrillers, Mystery, and Fantasy most. Fun fact, my record was reading 73 books (25,785 pages)! Animals, chickadees, thrift shopping, creativity and anything purple brings me joy. 

When my daughter started kindergarten, I wanted to be more involved with the Weaver Lake Elementary community, events, and getting information. Even though I'm not extroverted, I joined the PTO because I'm a helper by heart. Through the PTO, I’ve met so many wonderful people and I look forward to making more friendships. The PTO is a great group of dedicated parents and I hope to see more families join our meetings! My role as Media Communications is making our PTO Newsletters, managing our PTO website, and posting to all our school Facebook pages!

My husband and I have three children, two at Weaver Lake in third and second grade. Weaver Lake has been a great school for our kids and we have met so many wonderful families in our first couple years there. Being a Magnet school, I love the idea of helping to foster a sense of community and school spirit through Weaver Wear! I am also enjoying getting to learn more about the school and working with the dedicated and awesome PTO group!

Hi! I'm Mesha, and I'm a parent to a wonderful third grader at Weaver Lake Elementary. My husband, Charles, and I have loved the diversity of topics and skills our daughter has been exposed to at Weaver. I'm excited to be part of the PTO to support our amazing school community and to contribute to fundraising efforts that keep our diverse and engaging STEM programs going strong. As my daughter never says no to a chance to eat out, Dine-2-Donate is the perfect fit!

Casey Clem is a PTO member, educator, and regular volunteer with three kids in 5th, 7th, and 11th grade, a supportive husband, and a very active puppy who keeps everyone on their toes. She loves sharing the joy of reading and thinks chairing the Read-A-Thon is the perfect way to get kids excited about books! After growing up in Edina and spending much of her adult life living around the U.S. and in other countries, she moved back to Minnesota two years ago and hopes to stay for good — though her love of learning will keep her traveling whenever she gets the chance. She believes traveling builds perspective, curiosity, and empathy that enrich both her teaching and her family’s lives.

My name is Molly Swenson, my husband Jeremy and I have 3 kids (Owen- 2nd grade, Olivia- kindergarten and Calvin is 2). Our family loves going to the cabin, enjoying the boat or finding a new adventure. We are always on the go! I work at New Horizon Academy in Boston Scientific. My kids have always came to work with me so sending Owen off to Kindergarten was hard, but he had the best year with Ms. J and learned so much! We have loved getting to know families and friends at Weaver Lake. Fun fact, I went to elementary school at Weaver Lake! 

Last year was my second year on the PTO and I am excited to continue the journey this year. I am in charge of Family Sports, last year we went to the Twins game as a school and it was a big success! Looking forward to adding in another sports game or two this year.
