I believe healing happens through relationships. Whether I'm working with a young child, a teenager, an adult, or a couple, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, emotionally safe, and free to explore your experiences without judgment. Therapy, to me, is not about fixing people, but about offering a collaborative space where we can slow down together, deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may feel overwhelmed, lost, or overlooked.
I earned my Master of Science in Counseling from Northeastern State University, and my professional experience has given me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings. I have spent several years supporting children and families in the public school system, particularly those navigating housing instability, foster care involvement, and significant life transitions. These experiences have shaped my commitment to approaching each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect, and have reinforced that meaningful growth looks different for every individual.
One of the things I value most about my work is walking alongside people at every stage of life. Therapy offers a place to slow down, reflect, and make sense of life’s experiences together. While our sessions are important, growth often unfolds in the space between them; in everyday moments, relationships, challenges, and small shifts in awareness or response. We return to those experiences in session to explore what feels different, what feels difficult, and what you are beginning to understand about yourself.
My approach is relational, person-centered, and emotionally focused. Lasting change grows out of safe, authentic therapeutic relationships where clients have space to explore their emotions, experiences, and patterns with curiosity rather than judgment. My work is informed by person-centered and attachment-based principles, and I incorporate expressive and sandtray interventions when they support a client’s goals.
With young children, I have specialized training in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), offering developmentally responsive care while partnering with caregivers to strengthen relationships and support lasting growth. I am currently under supervision toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and am working toward certification in both CCPT and CPRT. I am also a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and enjoy supporting couples seeking premarital counseling and relationship enrichment.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two dogs, exploring Georgia’s trails and waterways, gardening, cooking, and discovering new restaurants. Spending time outdoors has always been one of the ways I feel most grounded and connected. I am also an avid reader although these days it is mostly therapy-related books, I am always open to a good fiction recommendation.
Professional Disclosure: I am currently practicing under clinical supervision as I work toward independent licensure and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credentialing. My clinical supervisor is Ellie Wood, MA, LPC, NCC, RPT-S, CPCS, CFMHE, CCCE. (Ellie@wearebackontrack.com)
