For Parents
Chamber Choir does include some extra time commitments outside of class besides performances and practicing. With this being an auditioned group we may get asked to perform in the community and typically chamber choir will be the main community performance group. See below for additionally details.
Solo/Ensemble: New this year to choir is that S/E will be optional for all students. Students have the opportunity to be highlighted in various vocal performances that take place outside of school. S/E district performance will be on Saturday March 6 at Pulaski High School which is the first day our WDPSD Spring Break. More info on this as we get closer to winter
Concerts/Performances: This is a performance based class and as such, all concerts and performances are mandatory. They are the "final exams" if you will, and it is critically important that all choir members are at all performances. If there is an unavoidable family conflict or emergency, I do offer alternate assignments worth up to 80% of the performance grade IF GIVEN AT LEAST TWO WEEKS NOTICE VIA EMAIL. If it is within two weeks of a performance, I reserve the right to offer no alternate assignment and the student will receive a zero for that grade.
For Students
Being in choir is agreeing to be part of a team. Practicing outside of class and at home should be considered as your "homework" for choir. This will ensure that all of our rehersals can be smooth and efficient and we can make the best music possible. Please see Google Classroom for current concert music and practice resources.
