Hello and Welcome to 1st Grade!

My name is Mrs. Klika, and I am very excited to be learning with you this year! First grade is such an important year. It is filled with lots of learning, increased independent responsibilities, and tons of fun!

I have been teaching at Westwood since 2011, and I love teaching in West De Pere because the community is so welcoming and supportive. I graduated from St. Norbert College in May 2009. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a minor in Language Arts. Additionally, I graduated from Silver Lake College in June 2013 with a Master's degree in Elementary Education with a focus on teacher leadership. 

I am from the small town of Denmark, Wisconsin, and grew up on a pig and dairy farm. I still live in Denmark with my husband, Nick; our son, Landon; and our daughter, Cora. I love to spend time with my family, especially interacting with Landon and Cora and watching them grow. It is awesome to see the world anew through their eyes. I also enjoy running, biking, swimming, working in our vegetable garden, and reading.
