Welcome to Room 403!

Welcome to our class website. I am so excited to be working with all of you this year! I have been teaching at Westwood since 2007 and absolutely love teaching first grade! I have a bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Child Development. 

My husband and I have four amazing children, and four wonderful grandchildren. When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time at my cottage with my family. I love to kayak, go fishing, swimming, take pontoon rides around the lake and sit by the camp fire. I also love to work in my garden, go on walks, watch movies and read!

Working with 1st graders is never boring. They are inquisitive learners that want to know who, what, where, why and more. In our classroom we work hard but still have lots of fun. My goal is to help your child become an independent learner that loves to read and learn. Being a first grade teacher is challenging and exhausting some days but I wouldn't change it for anything. Teaching First Grade at Westwood is a dream come true.
