Hello and welcome to the NATURAL SCIENCES!
Yes, that is a bearded dragon on my shoulder. Her name is Emily, actually, and she is one of several bearded dragons that have shared my classroom over the years. Considering that I started my career at WDPHS back in 1998, you could say I've had a few. I find that these lizards are more interesting and "hands-on" than the fish in the aquariums, but aren't as stinky and high-maintenance as small mammals or snakes.
I currently teach General Biology (for sophomores) as well as Environmental Science (for juniors & seniors) not because I have to, but because I find nature and human ingenuity to be fascinating.
