Hello and Welcome to 7th Grade Language Arts! This class, which is structured as a 90 minute block, centers around the four pillars of our language: Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. The foundation of the curriculum is the Units of Study model, specific to Reading (Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Investigating Characterization) and Writing (Essential Research Skills/Informational Writing, Argumentative Writing, Poetry).

A few random bullet points about me:

• My wife, Mrs. Lokken, is a kindergarten teacher at Westwood Elementary

• I have two children, Sullivan (6) and Hudson (4)

• I have a Silver Lab named Sylvie (I love dogs!!!)

• I am the Head Middle/Intermediate School Cross Country Coach (see the button on the left and/or the sub-page under Home for more info. I'm always looking for new runners!)
