7th Grade Literacy
Class overview
7th Grade Literacy covers all areas of language arts. Students can expect to study Greek and Latin root words and story vocabulary on a weekly basis. Students will also deeply explore fictional and informational texts and how to apply reading strategies to enhance their understanding of a variety of genres. Writing workshops will focus on narrative writing, argument writing, and literary analysis.
Miss Schwering is my teaching partner, and we affectionately refer to our sections as "Schwerston." She and I work together beautifully and deliver dynamic instruction in order to reach each unique learning style present in the classroom.
About me
I have been a teacher at WDMS for about a hundred years, and I still love coming to school and working with students. Reading books and working on writing never gets old for me.
When I am not in school, I am cheering for the Eagles with my family, walking my dog, or sitting on a beach somewhere with a book in my hand.
