5th Grade Intro to Digital Design

Intro to Digital Design is a quarter course that meets two days of the six-day A/B cycle. The 5th graders will be introduced to the concepts of Digital Design/3D Printing as well as the Tinkercad website for our digital designs.

6th Grade Digital Design 6 & Financial Lit

Digital Design 6 & Financial Lit is a semester course and meets three days of the six-day A/B cycle. In this course, the 6th graders will receive one-quarter of Digital Design and one-quarter of Financial Lit. In Digital Design, students will continue to use the Tinkercad website that they were first introduced to in 5th grade. We will continue to create our designs on the website and then see those designs come to life using our 3D printers! For Financial Lit we will cover a variety of Financial topics such as saving/spending, debt, credit cards, debit card, paychecks, interest, and banking. 

8th Grade Digital Design 8

Digital Design 8 is a full year course where students will continue to build off of 3D concepts learned in 6th grade Digital Design. Students will continue working with programs such as Tinkercad, but will also be introduced to new 3D software programs such as SketchUp, Sculptris, and 123D Design. In addition to the 3D software programs, we will also be working with the various google applications through a project-based program called TechnoKids. 

8th Grade 3D Printing

3-D Printing is a half-year project based class in which students are guided step by step to create a 3D object and watch some of their creations come to life in 3D form using our MakerBot 3D printing technology. During this course students will continue to primarily use the Tinkercad program which they were first introduced to in 5th and 6th grades. This course will switch with Modern Innovations halfway through the school year.
