Junior/Senior Timeline - Here is an idea of when to start looking at college and planning for college if that is your choice for after high school.
College/Military Visits - Admissions Representatives and Military Recruiters schedule visits at the high school. Check the list and sign up with Donna in the office if interested in meeting with them.

Here is information helpful in choosing classes at WDC:
ACT is the test most WDC students use for entrance exams to four year schools in the midwest. Pay close attention to registration deadline dates and whether or not the college you choose to attend requires the writing test.
WDC High School Code: 242585
SAT is the test many students take if they plan on going to school on the east coast, west coast or the southern part of the country. Colleges in those areas also accept the ACT. The closest place this test is given is Bemidji or Fargo.
Financial aid includes grants, loans, work study and scholarships.
It is also very helpful to talk to the financial aid office at the school the student is planning to attend. They work with financial aid and are the experts.
Scholarship applications for many local scholarships become available to seniors in January and are due in March and April.

Students who meet the requirements are eligible to take regular college classes at no cost at participating four-year colleges and universities or two-year community and technical colleges in Minnesota. Students who are interested in this option should contact the Counselor's Office.
Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college-level, nonsectarian courses at eligible participating postsecondary institutions. Most PSEO courses are offered on the campus of the postsecondary institution; some courses are offered online. Each participating college or university sets its own requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses. Eleventh and 12th-grade students may take PSEO courses on a full- or part-time basis; 10th graders may take one career/technical PSEO course. If they earn at least a grade C in that class, they may take additional PSEO courses.
There is no charge to PSEO students for tuition, books or fees for items that are required to participate in a course. Students must meet the PSEO residency and eligibility requirements and abide by participation limits specified in Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.09. Funds are available to help pay transportation expenses for qualifying students to participate in PSEO courses on college campuses. Schools must provide information to all students in grades 8-11 and their families by March 1, every year. Students must notify their school by May 30 if they want to participate in PSEO for the following school year. For current information about the PSEO program, visit the Minnesota Department of Education’s Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) webpage.
