Hi! My name is Tyler Clark, and this is my first year as the Choir Director here at WHS and WJHS!
I grew up in Pana, Illinois in a family where almost every member played a musical instrument. I first learned how to play guitar from my dad. Then I picked up the alto saxophone in middle school band, took up drum lessons, piano lessons, joined choir in high school... and the rest is history!
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2020 with my Bachelors in Music Education. During my time there, I primarily studied voice and saxophone, but also performed in musicals, wind and jazz ensembles, and the Panther Marching Band as a member of the drumline! Before coming to Waterloo, I was the Band Director at Meridian Middle/High School in Macon, IL for three years where I taught 6-12 Band, Guitar, and Music Theory & Composition.
I live in St. Louis with my fiancée, Sara, and our two cats, Milo and Henry.
