Course: 2024.35 Sourdough for Beginners
When: Sunday 25 August, 9 - 4pm at Westland High School’s Food Tech Room
An advanced Artisan course will be offered on Sunday 20 October.
Location: Food Room, Westland High School, Hokitika, 7810, New Zealand
Cost: $99 + GST for the course.

Joy McFarlane is a baker of sourdough and sells on “Sourdough Pantry”.
Course Content:
The beginners’ course, limited to 8 participants, is designed as an introductory course where participants will take home a starter, cook a wholegrain loaf, take home to bake a white loaf with inclusions (raisins or cranberries and walnuts), and make sourdough biscuits. Joy will share her tips for making nutritious baking. It is a relaxing day with Joy’s bread for lunch.
Participants are asked to bring a container for biscuits, a loaf tin (21 x 11cm) , an empty jam jar, their choice of additions for biscuits (a cup of chocolate chips, nuts, or cranberries) and sandwich fillings for lunch (cheese, tomatoes, etc)
Once you have registered, an invoice will be sent. Registrations are complete only when the fee has been paid. Once confirmed we will have made the commitment to deliver the course, and cannot give refunds after that date.
