Woodstock Elementary School Pre-K is an inclusive, play-based program serving children ages 3–5 in Woodstock, Vermont, and surrounding communities. As part of the Mountain Views Supervisory Union, we support families across Woodstock, Reading, Pomfret, Barnard, Bridgewater, Killington, Plymouth, and Pittsfield.
Our mission is to provide a warm, peaceful environment where teachers build on children's unique interests and learning styles. We believe enriching play experiences support the whole child.
We value self-directed play and the natural inquiry, exploration, and collaboration it inspires. Our program emphasizes community, equity, and care for ourselves, others, and the world around us.

We build community together.
Children in our WES Pre-K program actively help create our classroom traditions, agreements, and shared values—learning fairness, collaboration, and kindness through everyday participation.
Caring for ourselves and others is woven into our daily routines at WES Pre-K. Together, we participate in age-appropriate mindfulness practices, yoga, and social-emotional learning. As children cultivate mindful awareness and care for their own bodies and feelings, they naturally extend that same kindness and care to others.
At WES Pre-K, we believe deeply in the power of connecting children with the natural world.
We practice care and environmental stewardship through our natural play spaces, gardens, and weekly forest visits where children hike, explore, and discover.
