Hi! My name is Lori Beland and I am the new Assistant Principal here at WES:)I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team! My prior experiences are working as a special educator k-8, being a part of the crisis response team, leading PBIS universal, tier 2 and 3 intensive support teams, and having a background immersed in trauma informed practice and ABA instruction. I absolutely love connecting and working with students, their caregivers, and school teams to provide the absolute best support we can for them to be successful! I am so grateful to be working with such a caring and thoughtful team at Woodstock!

My favorite thing about being a school counselor is the sense of community that I get to feel each year that I am a part of the WES family. I love making connections and building relationships with all of my students! The 2023/24 school year marks my 13th year as a counselor at WES. I spend my time in school working with students 1:1 and in small groups to support social, emotional and behavioral needs. I also spend time in classrooms teaching Health classes and leading the school's positive behavior "pom pom" program. When I'm not working at WES, I live in Plainfield NH with my son, daughter, husband and two dogs. We love mountain biking together, skiing, visiting local trails and swimming holes, playing games and just spending time together. Here's to another great year!
This is my second year at WES as the Social Emotional Learning Specialist. I have truly loved the opportunity to get to know our amazing student community. The elementary school years are full of discovery and growth. There are joys and challenges along the way, and I believe that children thrive when they feel seen, understood, and supported. In my room, affectionately known as the “Cat Cave”, we offer a safe space for kids to have a break when needed, process their feelings, and develop relationship skills. Outside of school, I love to get outside with my family and two dogs! We love how all four seasons offer so many ways to be active and enjoy the natural world.
Hi My name is Pam Hausler. The kids call me " Nurse Pam". I have been a pediatric nurse for the last 37 years. I love working as a school nurse. It is so much fun to watch the kids grow and learn. I have three grown children who live in different parts of the country. I love when we all get together. When I am not in school, I enjoy yoga, knitting, running, and cross stitching. I look forward to the new school year.

Schoolwide SEL Curriculum: Second Step
The Second Step Elementary classroom program offers an evidence-based approach to social/emotional learning that helps children build important foundational skills like relationship building, self-management, cooperation and conflict resolution. These skills help children feel safe, supported, and connected to their school, which makes them better equipped to succeed academically and in life.
As part of Vermont’s COVID-19 education recovery efforts, the Agency of Education (AOE) is providing educators and stakeholders with SEL VT, a virtual platform of free materials for understanding key elements of healthy social emotional learning (SEL).
