Calendar & Classes School is in session for 180 days. The class periods are approximately 52 minutes in length. The credit earned in each course is noted on the transcript. Seven full credit classes meet every day all year except for Health/PE and Econ/Gov which are each one semester courses.
Grading System
The grading system is numerical. Letter grade equivalents and grade points are as follows: A = 100-90 = 4 pt C = 79-70 = 2 pt B = 89-80 = 3 pt F = 69-0= 0 pt
Credit Requirements
All students who graduate will earn 23 credits to earn a diploma as dictated by the Georgia Board of Education. This includes: English 4 | Math 4 Social Studies 3 | Science 4 | Health/PE 1 | Electives 7 Students are also highly encouraged to complete a pathway of 3 classes in one area: CTAE, fine arts, or academic. Ranking & Averages The overall alphabetical and numerical averages are listed on the transcript of credits. These are all unweighted. Final ranking, including valedictorian and salutatorian selection, is calculated after seven semesters. Only academic courses are used for ranking. Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual Enrollment (DE) numerical grades are weighted an extra 5% only for ranking purposes. This is not reflected on the transcript (the transcript may reflect a rank, but it computes all courses numerically).
