2025 PSAT Information
The 2025 PSAT will be administered on October 22nd starting at 7:45 AM. Whitfield County Schools administers the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) to those 10th grades who choose to participate. The PSAT is cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. It is administered annually to more than one million students and measures verbal and mathematical abilities that are important in college work. The PSAT gives students the opportunity to find out what the College Board’s Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is like, and helps them in planning for college or other post-secondary aspirations. The Georgia Department of Education covers the cost of the test for 10th graders in Georgia public high schools. 9th and 11th graders who choose to participate in the PSAT will have a fee of $20.
Students who choose to participate in the College Board Student Search Service have an opportunity to hear from colleges that they might not otherwise learn about. The PSAT is also the qualifying test for JUNIOR students who wish to participate in the nationwide scholarship competitions administered by National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Since the test is offered during a school day, please be aware that your student will be missing a large portion of his or her academic day and will need to check in with all teachers to make them aware and collect any work that will be missed prior to the day of testing.
