WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT HALL OF FAME
The Northwest Georgia College & Career Academy (NWGCCA) Workforce Development Hall of Fame recognizes and pays tribute to individuals who have positively impacted the NWGA College & Career Academy through service or contributions and who have achieved success/made a positive impact in the workforce. Individuals who are eligible include:
• Successful alumni who are leading in the field that they studied while at NWGCCA.
• Individuals (community leaders, stakeholders) who have made a difference in workforce development within the Whitfield County/Greater Dalton community.
• Faculty/Staff who achieved milestones during their career of teaching and influencing students towards the workforce.
Hall of Fame Nomination Procedure
Nominations for the NWGCCA Workforce Development Hall of Fame may be submitted by any individual. Nomination letters and supporting material should be submitted to the current CEO of NWGCCA by March 1 of each year. All nominations will be researched by the CEO and his/her team, and if the nominee meets the appropriate criteria, the CEO will forward the nomination to the selection committee for consideration. Honorees will be selected by a committee consisting of the NWGCCA Board of Directors, members of the Chamber of Commerce, and WCS System leadership. The selection committee will meet in April of each year to consider nominations.
Minimum Criteria for Alumni (Former Student) Nominations
1. The Alumni must have graduated from high school.
2. The Alumni must have completed at least one career pathway and earned a certification or credential during his/her time at NWGCCA. Completing an apprenticeship would also satisfy this requirement.
3. The Alumni must have at least 5 years of successful work history in a field related to what he/she studied at NWGCCA.
4. The Alumni must have a record of demonstrated success within the career field (i.e. promotions, contributions, giving back, etc.).
5. The Alumni displayed the highest level of ethics during his/her tenure at NGWCCA and during the work history presented for nomination.
Minimum Criteria for Faculty/Staff Nominations
1. Faculty/Staff nominees must have completed at least 10 years teaching or working at NWGCCA.
2. The nominee must have demonstrated a record of achievement during his/her tenure at NWGCCA through multiple individual or program measures. Examples of success measures include:
a. Industry Certification for CTAE program
b. Teaching dual enrollment classes
c. The individual obtained/completed an additional degree, licensing, or credential while on staff.
d. Teacher/Staff Person of the Year
e. Lead Teacher
f. Growth from faculty/staff into administration
3. The nominee displayed the highest level of ethics during his/her tenure at NGWCCA.
Minimum Criteria for Community Leader Nominations
1. Demonstrated leader in the community who has positively impacted workforce development and/or CTAE Education for the Whitfield County/Greater Dalton area in a significant way over his/her professional career.
2. The leader has a demonstrated connection or working relationship with NWGCCA.
3. The leader displayed the highest level of ethics in his/her community dealings.
