How To Support/Engage With Us

The NWGC College & Career Academy welcomes engagement opportunities with area business, industry and community partners as well as individuals who may wish to engage in our mission.  Partnerships help provide students with real-world experiences, mentoring, career awareness and opportunities to learn and grow. 

Donate Funds

NWGCCA is part of Whitfield County Schools and traditional school funding provides for normal operating expenses, including salaries, supplies, faculty operations, transportation, textbooks, etc.  To provide student experiences beyond those provided by traditional education funding and to achieve our workforce development mission, NWGCCA raises funds.  Donations are eligible for tax deductions based upon individual tax situations as outlined in the federal or state tax codes. 

Donate Items

NWGCCA always welcomes donated items that may enhance the student learning experience.  Items include parts, consumables, equipment, tools or services that can be donated by local companies or individuals in lieu of the school purchasing such items.  Examples of current needs include:

·        Recent automobiles (2010-present) or engines for automotive program

·        Industrial drives, PLC’s, motors, controllers for mechatronics program

·        Industrial grade robotic arms

·        Industrial grade kitchen appliances or equipment

Join a Pathway Advisory Committee

NWGCCA is proud to offer the following career pathway programs:

       Automotives                                  Information Technology

       Culinary Arts                                 Law & Justice

       First Responders Academy             Manufacturing

       Healthcare Sciences                       Mechatronics

Each career pathway program at NWGCCA maintains an advisory committee of business and industry professionals to help ensure that our programs remain current and prepare students with the skills needed for success in the workplace.  Committees typically meet 2-3 times per year.

Speak to Classes

Share your knowledge or more about your organization with students to help them understand how to build a successful career.  Speakers can engage in person or virtually. 

Hire a Student

Work-Based Learning placement represent the pinnacle of the Career-Related Education experience.  To qualify for a WBL placement, a student must be in grades 11 or 12 and at least 16 years old.   Students generally work part-time but other schedules can also be addressed.
