Important Information


What are the library hours?

The library is open on school days from 8:25 A.M. - 3:25 P.M.  

How often do students go to the library?

All classes have Library  once in a 6 day cycle.  

However, there is "Open Library" offered every morning from 8:30-8:55 AM.  

Students may  use this time to return and/or sign out a new book.   

What do I do if my library book is lost or damaged?

Please alert Mrs. Lindner or Mrs. Peterson (Library Clerk) of any lost or damaged books.  They will let you know how much the book costs.  When paying for a lost or damaged book, we will accept cash or checks made out to the Wappingers Central School District (WCSD).  All payments will be acknowledged with a receipt of payment.

Can I access the library database from home?

Yes.  Just click on the link "OPALS - Library Database" from Mrs. Lindner's website to search all of the available resources we have to offer. 

When are library books due?

Students can borrow books for six school days.  The due date is the next time they have library class. 

Can students renew books?

Yes, they can. Students can stop by the library to renew their book. This will allow them to have another 6 school days with the book(s).

How many books can each student borrow?

Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade: 1 book 

3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade: 2 books  

What if I have a research project and I need information from home?

If you have access to a computer with an Internet connection, click on the link "Research Databases" from Mrs. Lindner's website.  There you will be able to access reliable sources for factual information on a variety of topics.
