Standards-Based

Report Card

The Wappingers Central School District uses a standards-based report card to evaluate and report on the growth and achievement of all students in grades K-6. The purpose of using a standards-based grading system is to provide better clarity on the progress of our students toward meeting the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards. While the Wappingers Central School District has utilized a standards-based system for many years, recent changes to the New York State standards required us to closely examine our grading and reporting system. This website was designed to provide families with the information they need to fully understand the elementary report card and feel comfortable with some of the recent changes that have occurred. Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher or building principal if you have any questions.

Over the past year, members of the Elementary Standards-Based Report Card Committee have been working to update our report card to provide a clear understanding of how elementary students are achieving in all academic areas.

Below is a presentation that will introduce you to the changes to the report card and the layout within the Infinite Campus student management system. Below the presentation, is a link to sample report cards and other related documents and resources.
