Why It Matters:
This project connects students to the stories of real-world changemakers and shows them the power of young people to create change. By researching and sharing their stories, students will learn valuable skills in research, writing, and presenting while inspiring others—and maybe even themselves—to make a difference in their community.
Young Voices. Big Change.
Around the world, young people are stepping up to solve big problems: climate change, inequality, access to education, and more. These young changemakers are proving that age is no barrier to making a difference. From Greta Thunberg rallying millions for climate action to Marley Dias creating book drives to promote diversity, young leaders are changing the world in remarkable ways.
Now, it’s your turn to shine a spotlight on their efforts. Imagine you’ve been hired by a global youth organization to create a feature profile of a young changemaker. Your task is to research a real-life young activist or innovator, explore the challenges they’ve faced, and showcase their inspiring story through voice. The organization plans to use your work in a special exhibition and website to motivate more young people to take action.
The stakes are high: your profile needs to be accurate, engaging, and meaningful, helping others see that young people can lead the way to a better future. Whose story will you tell, and how will you bring their impact to life?
How have young changemakers positively impacted the world, and what can we learn from their actions to create change in our own communities?
What key problems or issues did these changemakers address, and how do they connect to larger societal or global challenges?
How did the changemakers' actions demonstrate persistence, creativity, and impact, and what evidence supports their success?
What can we learn from these changemakers' stories to inspire action or solutions in our own lives and communities?
