Project-Based Learning
Driving Question:
How might we develop and test renewable energy solutions in order to address energy challenges for our community?
Storyline:
In our mission to tackle the energy problems in our community, you will work with Central Hudson and Artificial Intelligence to create and refine renewable energy systems. These systems will provide green solutions and use ideas from physics and engineering. You will learn about energy, force, motion, and magnetism. You will plan experiments, ask important questions, and follow rules based on science and how they affect the environment. By testing and collecting data, you will keep improving your designs.
You will have to:
Create prototypes (revision of sketches) and solve any issues related to the motion of components, ensuring that they adhere to Newton’s Laws.
Revist prototypes from Turning Point 1 to account for sum of forces and mass in your prototype energy system. Optimize the design of your energy system based on your analysis to improve efficiency.
Revist prototypes… revise prototype utilizing the potential of electric and magnetic forces for energy generation.
Develop models to describe energy conversion within your renewable energy system prototype.
Present your renewable energy solutions, including detailed designs, experiments, and data analysis. They explain how they applied scientific principles to create efficient and sustainable energy systems.
