About Me

2022 marks my 30th year of teaching English/ELA. I began my career in 1993 teaching 11th and 12th grade English at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, where I stayed for eight years before I came to Wappingers in 2001. I started at John Jay teaching 12th grade English. The following year, I traveled between John Jay and Van Wyck teaching both 10th and 7th grades, and was won over by the enthusiasm of middle school students. I have been teaching 8th grade ELA for 18 years, and 7th grade again for the past 8. In 2012, I achieved National Board Certification, and continue to take advantage of learning opportunities, particularly in the area of technology integration. I am a member of the Executive Board of NYSEC (New York State English Council), and teach courses with the Mid Hudson Teacher's Center.

On a personal note, I have four grown and college-aged daughters, and we love to travel together. My family grew when I recently adopted my puppy Zelda, who keeps me very busy!
