My goal for this class is to create a structured environment that supports students academically, while taking time to celebrate the individual milestones reached throughout the year. Establishing that each child CAN do a task, helps them not only build independence, but helps to develop a growth mindset towards overcoming challenges.
I grew up (and spent the majority of my early life) in Cairo Egypt, where I attended an American international school. After nearly 18 years abroad, I happily returned back to the Wappingers area to attended Marist College where I majored in Psychology and Special Education. I'm currently attending Hunter College where I'm working towards my Masters in Adolescent Special Education. My family is local to the Wappingers area, and I feel lucky to have returned home to such a wonderful district!
Outside of school, I ride horses and am involved in any community athletic league that will take me (except basketball, a sport I am notoriously terrible at). I enjoy spending my vacations exploring new places, and when I'm home I always look forward to game nights with friends and family.
