About the Teacher

My name is Danielle Tierney and I will be your fourth grade teacher this year!  This will be my 4th year teaching at Evans in the Wappingers Central School District, but my 11th year teaching at the elementary level.  I have a three year old daughter and a 2 year old son! We have a golden retriever named Riggins and we love playing outside with him.

I have a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, as well as my NYS professional teaching certifications in Early Childhood Education (B-2) and Childhood Education (1-6). I love to teach and I can’t wait to explore and grow with you all!

I grew up right here in Hopewell Junction and completed grade school in the Wappingers Central School District and graduated from John Jay HS. I love that I have the opportunity to teach in the district in which I grew up in! I am so excited to begin this learning adventure together this year!
