Hi! My name is Mrs. Gina Carrigan. This is my 18th year at Brinckerhoff and I am so thrilled to be teaching at this wonderful school!
I graduated from North Rockland High School in 1999. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, ever since I was a little girl. So, I continued my education at one of the best Educational Colleges in New York State...St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) in Orangeburg, NY. Soon after receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education in 2004, I went on to the College of New Rochelle, where I completed my Master's Degree in Literacy in 2006!
In my free time, I love to go to the gym and watch my boys play baseball. I really enjoy watching a good movie at home, reading magazines and books, going out to dinner with my husband Billy or just relaxing at home with Maxx (he is 12 and in 7th grade) and Mason (he's 6 and in 1st grade) who are the absolute lights of my life!
MISSION FOR THE CLASS: It is very important that my students come to school every day willing to try their very best. I love to have a lot of fun and I hope you do, too! Please understand that I take my job as a teacher very seriously and it is important that my students take their job seriously, too! This year will be a great success!! My mission is to instill in the students an “I can do it” attitude and a love for learning. They will learn that they can do anything they set their minds too. Anything your mind can believe and conceive, it can achieve. I will set high expectations for my students and expect them to carry out my expectations to the best of their ability at all times. My mission as a teacher is to help and encourage my students to have high self-esteem and believe in themselves in whatever they do. I want my students to leave my classroom with high self-esteem, self-confidence, and the knowledge that I will always be there for them and willing to help them in the future.
