Meet The Teacher
Welcome to Our Classroom!
I am so excited to be beginning my third year at Oak Grove and my sixth year teaching second grade! Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with young learners each day.
After spending four years in the classroom, I made the decision to step away from teaching for a while to raise my family. Those years were incredibly special and allowed me to be present for so many important moments in my children's lives. When the time came to return to the classroom, I knew I had made the right decision. Coming back to teaching has reminded me just how much I love creating a classroom where children feel safe, supported, encouraged, and excited to learn.
Second grade is such a wonderful age! Students are becoming more independent, developing their own interests and personalities, and making tremendous academic and social growth. I love watching students discover something new, gain confidence in themselves, and realize that they are capable of more than they thought. My goal is to make learning meaningful, engaging, and fun while helping every child feel valued and successful.
A Little About My Family:
When I am not at school, my favorite role is being a mom to three amazing children. My oldest, Harrison, is 22, my daughter Addison is 18, and my youngest, Brayden, is 11. Being a mom has taught me so much about patience, encouragement, perseverance, and celebrating the little victories, all qualities that I bring into my classroom every day.
My family keeps me busy, laughing, and always on the go! I love spending time with them and making memories together.
I am looking forward to another wonderful year at Oak Grove and to getting to know each of my students and their families. Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your child's second-grade journey. I can't wait to see all that we accomplish together!
