Dear Students, Parents & Guardians:
Welcome back to school! I hope this letter finds you and your family safe and healthy during these uncertain times. I know this is a very stressful time for many of you and I’m going to try to ensure that the Remote Learning experience is as smooth and painless as possible. I will be setting up all of the Science and Resource Room Google classrooms before the start of the year for both my 7th and 8th grade classes.
Students will be able to join my Google classrooms by clicking on the link directly in the Google classroom. Students will be expected to log in during their Resource Room and Science class periods for daily instruction. Attendance will be taken at the start of each class period so its important that students join class every day according to their daily schedules.
To join Resource Room or Science classes:
Students can easily join the classes by clicking on the link in the Google Classroom.
During the 1st week of school, I’ll be assigning a short survey in the Google classroom to determine what student’s accessibility and needs are. If students and parents could kindly fill this out at their earliest convenience, I’d appreciate it. I want to ensure that students have what they need (especially Chromebooks and Internet connections) to be able to be an active participant in my class.
In Science, students will be involved in a variety of activities and lessons to ensure they are continuing to explore important science concepts, remain curious about our natural world, make scientific inquiries, and appreciate the living environment while improving vocabulary and literacy skills.
In Resource Room, students will receive guidance and assistance with any weekly assignments they need help with. Students will also work on IEP goals, while improving both organizational and literacy skills.
I want to thank you in advance for your support and patience as we all embark on this new form of teaching and Remote Learning together. If you have any questions or need help with anything, please do not hesitate to contact me through email or the Google classroom. I’m always here to help anytime help is needed.
Please stay safe and healthy. I'm looking forward to a successful, and exciting school year with all of the students. I want to welcome my new 7th graders coming into the junior high school for the 1st time (I'm so excited for you to be here) and I look forward to seeing my 8th graders again this year.
I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces really soon.
