Mr. Tornatore’s Social Studies 8 Syllabus and Guidelines
Classroom Behavior and Expectations:
All students will be
· Respectful of one another’s beliefs, opinions and selves
· Supportive of their fellow classmates and a positive classroom culture
· On time and prepared for class each day with a writing utensil and whatever is assigned for the day
· Open to discussion and civil engagement with your peers and your teacher
· Active in classroom discussions, debates, and small group work with a respectful attitude
· Behave in accordance with the student handbook and code of conduct
· Responsible for missed work and staying up-to-date on assignments
Required Materials:
1. An organized three ring binder with dividers – Notes, classwork, projects
2. Loose-leaf paper
3. Writing utensils; pens blue or black ink only
4. Chromebooks and Earbuds
Grading Policy:
You will be graded on a variety of assignments, such as tests, quizzes, CRQ’s, projects, group work, participation and classwork. Everything you do in class counts in one way or another!
