We've been working on reading music to prepare for learning the recorder later in the year!

Oh boy! It's third grade already?
This year we spend time learning some great American folk and patriotic songs! On the menu are some classics like "The Star Spangled Banner" and "America (My County tis of Thee) as well as even recent folk songs by up and coming bluegrass artists!
About halfway through the year we will be ordering recorders (you parents remember those right??). Recorders help with tremendously with understanding music reading and general musicianship. It's why they are such a staple in the elementary music classroom. Stay tuned!
