The district, school, staff and community would like to thank you; the parent for your dedication, commitment and passion to this sport. You are the reason for the success of this program. You are dedicated to helping refine your daughter's skills and nurture her passion for softball and it shows. You have made the John Jay Softball Program a standout in New York State. Thank you for all that you do.
All we ask is that you please be respectful at all time. Every decision the coaching staff makes is in the best interest of the team. You may or may not agree with our decisions. We are not perfect and neither are our decisions. We often need to make split second decisions under the pressure of the moment. We do our best at all moments and may make errors just as players in the field do. Please become familiar with the Wappingers Central School District Rules of Participation regarding parent conduct. You can find it in its entirety in the booklet in the welcome packet sent home. There is a summary on this site under the "rules and regulations" on the left tool bar.
Also, please remember that we are with this team six days a week for several months. We are dedicated and deeply care about this program, the team as a whole and each of our players as individuals. We simply cannot guarantee playing time. There are situations where players do not get in games. Being a part of this program is a privilege. There are many ways to contribute to our team. We expect our players to have positive attitudes at all times. Negative and hurtful attitudes towards the staff or players will not be tolerated. Attitudes divide the team and are very harmful to the outcome of games and the overall season. Any situation that may cause harm to the team will have a consequence which may include removal from the team. The needs of the team will be placed ahead of any individual.
In addition, several staff members are volunteers. Their time and dedication is appreciated. Please understand that we care. We are here to learn, have fun and to win. If you ever have any concerns, feel free to contact me. My email is at the bottom of the tool bar to the left. I respond to emails very quickly. However, I won't discuss playing time with parents. Its the responsibility of the player to come to the staff if they are concerned about playing time.
Thank you,
Coach Crocco
