It is important that you add a category to your Infinite Campus grade book in order for the grade book to calculate an average and accept assignments synced from Google Classroom. You will set this up once you are in your grade book and click on the settings menu. Please click here to view the tutorial.
Yes, you can still separate assignments into categories in the Infinite Campus grade book if you grade with total points. Instead of just adding one category, add multiple categories and assign each one the same weight of 100. Please click here to view the tutorial.
To set up your grade book for a weighted average, in the settings of the IC grade book select categories and add the categories that you wish. Under weight, please add the percentage that you would like associated with each category. Once that is all set, go to Grade Calc Options in the settings and check the weight average box for each quarter. You can set up the weighted categories for all classes at once, but you must do the Grade Calc Options for each grade book. Please click here to view the tutorial.
It is really important this year that you have your Google Classroom grade book set up correctly. The new additions to the grade book make it easy to organize your grade books by quarters and sync easily to Infinite Campus. I encourage everyone to click here to watch the tutorial.
The first step is to ensure you have linked your Google Classroom to Infinite Campus through the link class to SIS feature in Google Classroom. You will see this on the Stream Page in Google Classroom, or if you click on settings. Once your class is linked, you can begin to export the grades to Infinite Campus by going to your grade book in Google Classroom and clicking the SIS Export Button. It is important to make sure that all of your assignments have a due date and are returned to all of the students, otherwise, you may get an error.
Once the export has finished, proceed to your Infinite Campus grade book and look for the box at the top of the grade book labeled uncategorized assignments. Click on that to assign categories to the assignments and set the grade to quarter grade. Once saved, all assignments and grades will be visible in your Infinite Campus grade book.
If you need to update any grades, you will update grades in the Google Classroom grade book and export again to Infinite Campus.

This is a known bug that is being investigated by Google. While frustrating, the classes will link. We have found it to connect somewhat easier if you refresh Google Classroom after receiving the error and try to link again. It may take a few attempts, but keep at it. We do know it can be frustrating, but we are hopeful that this will be resolved shortly.
This is similar to the bug that affects the initial linking of classes. However, if you do get an error, you should always check if all of the assignments have a due date and that they are all returned to the students. If all of the assignments have due dates and are returned, please refresh between attempts, it tends to work better. It may take a few attempts, but keep at it. We do know it can be frustrating, but we are hopeful that this will be resolved shortly.
