Grading

Quarterly grades are calculated using a points system. Your average will be based on total number of points earned (weekly homework assignments, quizzes, five-week tests, classwork, etc.), divided by total possible points, then multiplied by 100.

Students will be given 5 week average ranges, as well as grade sheets periodically to alert you of your current class average.

A regents (For Algebra 1B and Geometry) will be given in June.

A weekly mandatory homework assignment will be do on Friday work 10 points
Daily classwork will be counted towards participation
Late assignments can earn a maximum of half credit
Before each test students will be allowed to make a study card worth 2 bonus points. A study card can include examples, formulas, definitions.

Absences

It is important to be in class every day. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to request make up work. In order to make up missed classwork/assessments you must have a legal absence documented by the attendance office.

Email Etiquette

When emailing any of your teachers it is important that you only use your school issue email address. Emails coming from out of district addresses will be deleted and unopened. It is also important to include a subject line letting us know what the email is regarding, and to write your email using full sentences.

Communication Home

Contact home will be made at minimum before all the 5 week reports and report cards. Typical communication will be via email, though may occasionally include a phone call home.

Cheating Policy

If you feel that the only way to be successful in this class is to cheat, please meet with me so we can discuss other options for you.
