We expect students to:
Try their best, even when things are challenging or hard,
Be respectful of friends, classmates and adults in the classroom and within the school community,
Be respectful of tools, materials, and electronics, and use them appropriately,
Allow themselves to learn, especially from not always getting the right answers,
Be supportive of others and celebrate the successes of others,
Be team players and collaborate nicely,
Be kind to themselves and give themselves some grace when things do not go as planned, and
Celebrate their accomplishments, large or small! We want them to be proud of their effort and work!
When we see students following our classroom expectations they are rewarded! They are rewarded with individual and/or "spotlight" verbal praise, as well as tallies. Earning tallies give students an opportunity to earn individual rewards, but also adds to our class wide reward jar. If the class earns 40 stars throughout the marking period everyone will have an opportunity to engage in activities that they have selected as rewards. Students have many opportunities throughout the day to earn tallies and can earn up to 4 (or more) tallies in just one school day!
