FAQ

  1. Do the children need a snack every day? - YES! Please send a nutritious snack such as fruit, cheese, granola bars, etc. We will plan to eat snack in the afternoon. Since we are eating after lunch, please make sure your child knows what is meant for snack so it doesn't accidentally get eaten during lunchtime.

  2. Can my child bring a water bottle? - Yes. During these hot days, a water bottle is very helpful. To prevent spills, please send a reusable pop-top water bottle OR sippy cup with a straw. I do ask for health reasons that your child bring home the bottle at the end of each day if you plan to reuse it. Please label the water bottle with your child's name, even if it's disposable.

  3. Can my child have a birthday party in school? - Yes. Please check with me for a good date. You may send in cupcakes, brownies, cookies, etc. The children also enjoy juice or milk at parties. Juice boxes are easiest! Please send napkins too. Thank you!

  4. What about the celebration of birthdays outside the school year? - Our class will celebrate summer birthdays throughout the school year, either at students' "half-birthdays" or in June before the school year is over.

  5. What happens to the school schedule when there is a snow day? - If we have a snow day on day 1, the day that we return to school will be day 1. This is important so that you will know when it is a Phys. Ed. day.

  6. Do we go outside for recess during the winter? - Yes, we go out most days, unless the temperature is too low or if there is snow on the blacktop that hasn't been plowed.

  7. What can I do at home to help my child with READING? - Read with your child every night. 20 minutes of daily reading is so important. Take advantage of MyON and Sora, which are both online reading resources found through Clever. Epic is also a great online resource to take advantage of during school hours (M-F 7AM-3PM)

  8. What can I do at home to help my child with MATH? - Help your child develop math fact fluency (addition and subtraction). Take advantage of xtramath.org, which targets your child's specific needs.

  9. What's the best way to keep up with what's happening in the classroom? Join our class on Bloomz and Seesaw. Any updates or announcements will be added and you can easily access it from a smartphone or computer. You can access your child's hard work on Seesaw. Also, please remember that my door is always open. If you have any questions, concerns or comments you can send me a message through Bloomz, send me an email or call.
