Start with Hello & Say Something/Say Something- Prevent Suicide.Start With Hello creates a culture of kindness and belonging to all students. The Say Something Program teaches students about this difficult topic and encourages them to seek help with a trusted adult. Counselors will be presenting the program to all students. Students will watch age-appropriate video clips and participate in a guided discussion about depression, suicide, and what to do if they are concerned about a friend. Following the video portion, they will complete a short exit slip asking the student if they need to talk to a trusted adult about this topic. If your student responds yes to the exit slip stating, “I want to talk”. One of our school counselors, therapists, or social worker will pull your student to talk. This program is used in grades 7-12.
