If you want to access quiz or test questions that have already been created, click the IXL InstaQuiz option.
Next, you will select the subject area that your quiz or test will cover. You can do this one of two ways: A) Type a Specific Topic and Search for Questions if you have a specific subject that you want the quiz/test to cover or B) Pick a subject (Math, Language Arts, Science, Spanish Language Arts, etc) to search for questions related to that subject. Keep scrolling down for option A. Click this link to be redirected to the instructions for option B) Pick a Subject.
Option A) Type a Specific Topic and Search for Questions: Click the Search bar located right below the IXL InstaQuiz button. You can type a term such as lowercase letters and search for quizzes about lowercase letters.
1. In this example, we have typed the search term lowercase letters. A selection of questions based on lowercase letters will appear.
2. Click a question to select it for your quiz/test.
3. A sample question about lowercase letters appears.
4. In this example, this is a Level 2 question. You can click the Level 2 button and see if there are other levels of this type of question available.
5. Here you can see there is a Level 1 type of this question available.
6. Click the arrows to the left or right of the Level to select the question you want to use.
7. Click the + sign to select how many questions like this one that you want to include on the quiz or test.
8. Here we have selected a total of five questions. IXL will generate questions similar to the one you picked above. Once you have the number of desired questions, click Next.
9. Scroll down to see all the questions you have selected for this quiz/test. At this point, you can still add more questions if you want by clicking the + sign at the bottom of the questions. Additonal questions similar to the ones you already have will be added as long as you keep clicking the + Sign.
10. Click Add Questions to keep adding additional questions.
11. Once you are satisfied with the questions you have added, click Move to Review.
12. You can make adjustments to the quiz in this setting. For example, if you click the Question Order dropdown menu, you can make the question order the same for all students or randomize the order.
13. You can also decide whether or not to make scores and/or correct answers available to the students after a quiz/test is submitted and after the quiz/test ends.
14. Once you have everything set, click Publish to Quiz Library.
15. The quiz is now published to your school's IXL library. You can click Go to Quiz Library to find the quiz.
16. Here is the quiz you just created. Click View to see the quiz.
17. Scroll down to see the entire quiz.
Congratulations! You have successfully created a quiz using IXL InstaQuiz.
1.(A) Type in the name of the quiz in the first box. Then (B) select one of the subject areas.
2. Pick the grade level for the quiz/test.
3. Scroll down the list and select the category that matches what kind of quiz or test you want to create. Be sure to scroll down the page because there are many more topics you can pick for your quiz/test that are not visible at first until you scroll downward.
4. Select the skill from the list that matches your quiz/test content.
5. A question will appear. To add the question to your quiz/test, click the + Sign next to the number. In this example, this is a Level 2 question. If you want to see the Level 1 question, click the Level 2 tab and change it to Level 1.
6. Click the + Sign to add additional questions to the quiz/test.
7. Click Next once you are satisfied with the number of questions on your quiz/test.
8. Click the Trash Can icon next to any question you want to delete from the quiz/test.
9. Once you are satisfied with the quiz content, scroll to the top of the page and click Move to Review.
10. Check the dropdown menus to select the Question order (same for all students or randomized) and then set the tabs to decide if you want scores and correct answers to be visible after students submit and after the quiz ends.
11. Click Publish to Quiz Library.
12. Click Go to Quiz Library to view the quiz.
13. Click View next to the quiz to see it.
14. Here you can see the quiz.
