The website QR Stuff is a free and open source option for creating QR Codes. You do not have to log in and create an account. With the free version, you can create an unlimited number of static QR Codes. A static QR Code cannot be edited once it is generated. If the link to a website should change, the static QR Code is useless and you would have to create a new one. A dynamic QR Code means that you can edit the existing QR Code that is already generated to link to the new website address.
If you want access to the full list of styling options or need to generate a large number of QR Codes in one session, select one of the paid versions of QR Stuff. Here are the options for free and paid accounts:
In the directions below, we will use the Free Version of QR Stuff which requires no login or account. Go to the website: https://www.qrstuff.com/
1.Select your Data Type. In this example, we will select a Website URL to create a QR Code for a website.
2. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Next Step.
3. Copy the URL for the website you want to use as a QR Code. Paste the address in the URL bar located under the Code Content tab.
4. Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Next Step.
5. You can change the color of the QR Code with the free version, but you will not have access to the other styling features listed. To change the color of the QR Code, click the Color tab and select one of the color options.
6. You can adjust the color by A) selecting the Foreground and/or Background Color options. B) Drag the small white dot around the color field until the QR Code is the desired color. The QR Code appears to the right so that you can see what the final product will look like.
7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next Step.
8. Under the Error Correction section, click Level H-30%. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Next Step.
9. Select either Static or Dynamic for the Encoding Options. Remember that Static Code means the QR Code cannot be changed once it is generated. Dynamic Code means that the QR Code can be edited even after it is generated without having to create an entirely new QR Code. Then click Download.
10. Click the downloaded file to open it. Copy and paste the QR Code into whatever document, website, or presentation you are creating. You can also print a copy of the QR Code.
You can also create a QR Code for a YouTube video by selecting the YouTube option under the Social Links section. Follow steps 2-10 above to generate the QR Code.
