Learn, Lead, Serve
All students at each grade level are expected to engage in community service opportunities. Although service is the last part of our mission, it is still an essential part of your time at WYWLA.
Community service hour recommendations are considered a part of providing well-rounded educational experiences to all the students at WYWLA. As you learn, lead, and serve many of you will find yourself developing your core personality, friends for life, and possible future careers.
Not all volunteer experiences are the perfect match for you. Please choose age and ability appropriate opportunities to meet the recommendations.
Approved Ideas:
Do you belong or live close to a church, mosque, or synagogue? All of these organizations are non-profits. Ask the group about volunteer opportunities.
Do you still have teachers, staff, and coaches at your old elementary and/or middle school you can help with? All WCPSS schools are non-profit organizations.
Other Non-Profit Agencies in the Area include Salvation Army Soup Line, Bargain Box, Oberlin Village Library, The Food Bank of NC, The Green Chair Project, Raleigh Rescue Mission, Interact, Saving Grace, Step-Up Ministries, and many more!
