A cheerleading team is responsible for creating a connection between the fans and the athletic team. The enthusiasm of the crowd can help a sports team play better and feel more morale-boosting. The cheerleading team is responsible for unifying the crowd in its efforts. Here at Wakefield Middle School, we strive for our team to be just that and we are thrilled that you are interested in taking the journey with us. 

On our team here at WMS, we are looking for cheerleaders with positive attitudes, a willingness to learn, open to trying new things, and great team players. We are also looking for cheerleaders who are GREAT students as well as having GREAT character. We ask that all our athletes keep their grades up at all times, be an example of respect, and show integrity in their classes. If you are picked for our team, you will represent us; if your representation does not reflect us in a positive manner, we will not hesitate to cut from try-outs or even the final team list. We will stay in contact with all of our athlete's teachers. 

Most importantly, our team focuses on safety. We make sure that our athletes are able to explore their love for the sport in an environment they are comfortable with and are able to push their limits in the safest way possible.
