Parent Meetings
AIG Teachers:
Ms. Casey (mcasey@wcpss.net)
Ms. Edsall (cedsall@wcpss.net)
If you would like your 4th or 5th Grade student to be considered for Spring Testing (CogAt/IOWA), please nominate them by Friday, January 12th.
We expect scores to return in early March and will contact families with updates as we receive them.
How do services work?
- Students can be identified in Math and/or Reading. Nominations are accepted all year.
- Classroom Support: The AIG Teachers work with teachers to support differentiation in the classroom setting.
- Electives: At WashinGTon, students who are identified as gifted in Math and/or Reading sign up for at least one elective in their identified subject areas each year. AIG Electives are taught by an AIG Teacher.
- Each student who is identified has an Individual Student Profile (ISP) and a Differentiated Education Plan (DEP).
- Students have rights to gifted services in each state (NC).
Did you know classroom teachers support students of many levels in the regular classroom setting? Our teachers are amazing!
