Social Studies

Students have begun their year with a unit on Geography. Students are studying the five themes of geography, with a focus on absolute and relative location. For an example, they were introduced to latitude and longitude, following the exact location of Hurricane Dorian. Students saw a picture of the hurricane from the International Space Station. Next we will on the three regions of North Carolina.

09/23/19: Students are completing a study on three regions of NC by a map project in their groups. To complete this unit on Geography, students will gather information in collaborative groups to decide if Wake County could support the Summer Olympics.
